While sunshine certainly adds to the atmosphere on the day, the true key to the May Fair's success is the community spirited
volunteers who have run the event for the last 29 years.
Putting on over a dozen bands on two music stages is a logistical feat in itself, but when you add organising the
very popular cycle-powered cinema tent, market stalls, beer tent and healing area, the people power required quickly
increases.
Without this dedicated army of riggers, stewards, bar people and litter pickers it just wouldn't be possible to
stage a fund raising event of this scale, which has raised nearly £35,000 for charities since 2000.
And we need more willing hands for 2012.
Being part of the team is great fun and helps to support the charities. We would be delighted
to hear from anyone who could spare a couple of hours or more on the day.

your business can offer its services please get in contact.

It's a lot of fun being involved in the May Fair (otherwise we wouldn't do it) and really rewarding to be involved in such a great community event.

The May Fair is a free festival run by volunteers with all the funds we raise going to charity so we cannot offer artists a fee.
